2. How AutomationTools.ca Uses Your Information
AutomationTools.ca uses your information to:
- Provide the AutomationTools.ca service — scheduling and publishing posts to your connected social media accounts
- Generate AI-powered content suggestions on your behalf
- Display analytics about your posting activity
- Send important account notifications
3. Data Storage and Security
AutomationTools.ca encrypts all social media API credentials at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. Your password is hashed using bcrypt. We store data on secure servers and never share your credentials with third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
AutomationTools.ca connects to the following third-party social media platforms solely to publish content on your behalf using credentials you provide:
- Facebook — We use the Facebook Graph API to publish posts, images, and videos to your Facebook Pages. Permissions used: pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement, pages_manage_posts, publish_video, business_management.
- Instagram — We use the Instagram API to publish images and Reels to your Instagram Business account. Permissions used: instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_content_publish.
- LinkedIn — We use the LinkedIn API to publish posts, images, and videos to your LinkedIn profile or company page.
- TikTok — We use the TikTok Content Posting API to upload videos to your TikTok account. Scopes used: user.info.basic, video.upload, video.publish. We retrieve your TikTok display name and username to confirm which account is connected. Videos are uploaded as drafts or published directly based on your preference.
- Twitter/X — We use the Twitter API to publish tweets on your behalf.
- Reddit — We use the Reddit API to submit posts to subreddits on your behalf.
- YouTube — We use the YouTube Data API to publish content to your channel.
- WordPress — We use the WordPress REST API to publish blog posts to your site.
We also use OpenAI API for AI content generation. No personal data is shared with OpenAI.
5. Data Retention
AutomationTools.ca retains your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us or through the Settings page.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored by AutomationTools.ca
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Disconnect any social media account at any time
- Export your data
7. TikTok Data Usage
When you connect your TikTok account to AutomationTools.ca, we access the following data through TikTok's API:
- Your TikTok display name and username (via user.info.basic scope) — used only to display which account is connected in your dashboard
- Video upload capability (via video.upload and video.publish scopes) — used only to publish video content you create and approve in AutomationTools.ca
AutomationTools.ca does not collect, store, or share your TikTok followers, following list, likes, comments, or any other engagement data. We do not perform any automated engagement actions (no auto-likes, auto-follows, or auto-comments). All content is published only with your explicit approval.
8. Cookies
AutomationTools.ca uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Changes to This Policy
AutomationTools.ca may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or dashboard notification.
